Find the best Roth conversion plan

The goal is simple: the most after-tax money at the end of the plan. Enter your client's figures and press Calculate plan.

  1. We test many Social Security claiming choices and many conversion amounts for every year.
  2. Each one is worked out month by month, including federal and state tax, taxes on Social Security, Medicare surcharges (IRMAA), required distributions, early-withdrawal penalties and payroll tax.
  3. On the last day of the plan, all remaining IRA money is withdrawn and taxed, so the final number is money that can actually be spent.
